Finger joints, also called box joints, add visually striking symmetrical design to corner assemblies. Unlike dovetails, finger joints do not interlock mechanically but their enormous glue surface area makes them as strong as dovetails throughout the life of today’s modern adhesives

Leigh's versatile 24” F2 and 16” F1600 Finger Joint Templates* are the most comprehensive and accurate jigs of their kind. The F2 produces nine sizes of square finger joints from 1/16" to 1/2" and the F1600 produces six sizes from 1/16” to 1/2". Both templates can also produce square half-blind joints, and the F2 can make beautiful round to square through joints and round half-blind joints as well. Bull nose the board ends and drill a hinge pin hole and finger joints become tight, smooth-acting wooden hinges.

Joint fit is easily and precisely controlled using Leigh's patented Variable Guidebush System (VGS), a unique adjustable 3-piece template guidebush. Rotating the barrel of the VGS, up or down, increases or decreases it’s active diameter. A 1/8 turn of the barrel adjusts joint fit by a mere one thousandth of inch! The VGS is standard equipment with every F2 or F1600 template. Four tapered guides come with the 24” F2 and 3 sizes are included with the F1600. The VGS mounts directly to many router bases. Some routers may require a Leigh template guidebush adaptor.
